Grab my free relationship guide: 5 Secrets To Creating An Extraordinary Relationship http://www.claytonolsoncoaching.com I watch people beat themselves up over things in the past with this false belief: "I should have known better" I should have known what to do in that relationship so we didn't break up. I should have done this differently so that I wouldn't have gotten laid off or fired. I should have known he or she was like this to avoid getting married or divorce. If you really SHOULD have known better, then you would have known better. You did the best you could at the time with the awareness and resources you had at the time. That experience, failure, mistake, whatever you'd like to call it, is INTEGRAL to you learning to step up and create something different, now and into the future. You beating yourself up actually won't aid in you learning from any experience. If anything, it only keeps you stuck.
